HR Manager

Purpose Contribute to the strategic and tactical results of the Seagoville and Sugarland plant operations, providing Human Resources services to recruit, develop, reward and retain staff at all levels. Develop and deliver local initiatives and programs. Deliver Precision Hayes and Actuant HR programs, implement policies and report results. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and deliver the Employee Relations Strategy for the location and organize periodic updates with the Operations Leader, plant staff, segment HR (Industrial and Energy segments) and the Segment Operations groups. Recruit and select talented people. Guide leaders and participate in selection interviewing and employee orientation. Ensure selection of qualified hourly and salaried employees on the basis of skills, experience, background and reference checks. Provide counsel to employees on career enhancement and developmental opportunities within the company. Work with the plant Leadership Team to develop the organization structure staffed with the best leaders. Provide human resource support and relevant advice to the management team on matters including employment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management and training. Serve as an employee advocate and conduit of employee perspectives balanced with business savvy. Coordinate formal and informal communication programs including all-employee site briefings. Administer work rules fairly and objectively. Maintain management role and perspective while being sensitive to employee positions. Keep plant and segment staff advised of key issues and concerns. Serve as a confidant to the plant manager. Safety--Collaborate with the Plant Safety Rep to communicate safety principles, insure OSHA compliance, deliver safety training, enforce safety rules. Maintain union-free environment. Communicate policies and procedures to employees at all levels. Administer the pay-for-knowledge system for hourly employees. Conduct periodic wage and benefit surveys and recommend appropriate changes in order to maintain competitive in the local market. Review and analyze pay data to ensure an effective system in place to reward and retain key professional employees. Collaborate with the HR Administrator to communicate and coordinate all company benefit programs. Maintain confidential records, including personnel files. Oversee workers compensation, affirmative action plan, and all other state and federal compliance issues. Coach managers regarding the annual performance assessment and salary planning processes. Oversee the delivery of development and training programs, delivering training programs as needed. Promote and support the Company's LEAD (lean manufacturing) program in the plant. Participate in the talent planning process, including annual development and succession plans.   Desired Background: The successful candidate will have proven success as an HR Leader in an industrial plant setting as a member of the local leadership team. With three to five years or more of HR Generalist experience in an industrial setting, they will have solid knowledge of most HR functions. In depth knowledge and experience in one or more of the following is desired: labor relations and/or union avoidance; safety; lean manufacturing systems. Competencies: Decision Making; Engage & Inspire; Effective Communication; Build Talent Education and Experience Three to five years' experience in generalist/manager HR role in private industry with manufacturing workforces Educated to university level (bachelors; preferred masters) , with preferred discipline of HR or Business Management Ability to identify and resolve organizational and individual problems with innovative approaches and consensus building Knowledge of U.S. labor laws and regulatory agency procedures and processes Ability to communicate succinctly and compellingly with all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing Knowledge of a wide variety of HR techniques and best practices gained through experience and education Additional preferred attributes include: SPHR certification; union avoidance and/or union relations experience; safety and workers comp experience; proven affinity with racially diverse workforces; potential to grow and relocate to Actuant HR positions in the US Key Relationships Precision Hayes HR Leader and Actuant HR team--Report results, collaborate on HR matters and contribute to Actuant HR program development Plant Leadership Team: Team member; HR subject matter expert; counselor; voice of the employees to the LT Seagoville and Sugarland plant Managers & Supervisors--Peer, counselor, coach, trainer, voice of reason, communicator and enforcer of policy HR Administrative Position--Supervisor, coach, problem solver and decision maker to ensure delivery of HR services Tracking Code 4863

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
